5 Red Flags When Analyzing Customer Pain Points

Trap #1: The Vocal Minority

Sometimes, a small group of users screams the loudest. Check the user history. Is it the same 5 people posting everywhere? If so, the market might be smaller than it appears.

Trap #2: The Solution in Search of a Problem

Be wary of posts that suggest a specific feature rather than describing a problem. "I wish this app had blockchain" is often a feature request, not a pain point. "I can't trust the data integrity" is the underlying pain point.

Trap #3: Price Complaints

Everyone wants things to be cheaper. Unless the price is a barrier to entry that prevents a specific use case, complaints about price alone are often not a strong signal for a new product, unless your innovation is a massive cost reduction.

Trap #4: Sarcasm and Trolling

Reddit is full of sarcasm. AI sentiment analysis can sometimes misinterpret sarcastic complaints as genuine anger. Always manual review high-intensity threads to ensure the context is real.

Trap #5: Legacy Problems

Check the timestamps. Is this a problem that was solved by a recent update? Ensure the discussion is current and active.
